ABOUT NICK TIPPENS
I love to create simple, naturally engaging user experiences through an innovative design process grounded in proven principles of interaction design. I apply a balanced blend of technical and conceptual skills to provide creative solutions to complex product strategy, information architecture, and interface design challenges.
I currently manage the Product Design team at Cardlytics. We design products for three distinct audiences - advertisers, publishing partners, and consumers - an exciting and ever-evolving challenge! I previously worked as a UX Generalist at State Farm, where I fulfilled a combination of architectural and design-related responsibilities. I was primarily assigned to Drive Safe & Save, one of the company's native mobile app teams. I also worked on reimagining sections of the authenticated customer management space within statefarm.com, the omni-channel ecosystem of the digital auto insurance ID cards, and the online self-service renters/homeowners insurance quote experiences.
I grew up near Atlanta, GA before attending college at Duke University. In May of 2018 I completed my Master of Science degree in Digital Media at Georgia Tech. Through that program I learned the theoretical underpinnings of interaction design and developed foundational programming skills. My projects included interactive prototypes of various digital applications, interactive narrative-based experiences, design fiction short films, a full-length documentary film, and augmented reality data visualizations.
